Love beyond reason
OK, so it's time for a big, existential question. Does God, the invisible and transecendent Being, really care about us at all? The mass media keep pumping out reports of man-made malaise and misery, leaving us with the impression that this world is totally out of control. And sometimes that leads people to the conclusion that God long since has abandoned humanity, and that our little wars, little famines and little disasters matter very little to Him.
The answer, however, to the question cannot be anything other than a resounding YES. God cares. Savour this piece of Scripture for starters, and I'll come back with more meaty stuff later to try to convince potential doubters about the veracity of it:
"For so God loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life." (NIV, the Gospel of John, ch. 3, verse 16).
