A choice to remember

Today I had the chance to watch a short film presenting an impossible, harrowing moral dilemma: a father having to choose between the survival of his only son or the survival of countless unknown persons on board an approaching train.

The incident may belong to the world of fiction, but it bears unmistakable similarity to the choice facing our heavenly Father. He, too, had to make an 'impossible' decision involving the unavoidable sacrifice of life - to rescue and redeem that which was in all respects lost and ready for condemnation. This video may help us appreciate more profoundly the incredible ransom that was paid for you and me. It will also more readily help us identify with the heartbreak the loving, pounding father heart of God suffered as the obedient Son was reaching the climax of his life and service on earth.
